Workers Memorial Day 2020
April 28th, 2020, we recognize
those that have lost their lives in the
Workplace in 2019. This year is quite
different. We can’t have a ceremony because
we can’t have mass gatherings. We can’t hear
the solemn sounds of the bagpipes when they
play Amazing Grace. One thing we can do is
“Remember” We can remember those that lost
their lives due to being fatally injured at
work. Plus, now we must “Remember” those
that have lost their lives in this Pandemic
of Coronavirus. The Coronavirus may change
our lives forever! It’s too soon to tell. I
know we have all been asked to live our
lives differently in the last few months. I
know it’s been a burden for all of us, but
we must remember to do all the right things
to prevent the spread of the Virus and help
keep each other safe while at work, out in
public and most importantly at home. On this
day we call Workers’ Memorial Day I am
asking all of you to take a minute to
remember all workers that have sacrificed
their lives in the workplace with a moment
of silence. Then I want you to take another
minute to Remember all the lives lost during
this Pandemic of Coronavirus. Until things
can return to normal if things can ever
return to normal, we must follow the
guidance of the CDC and do our part to help
stop the spread of this virus. Too many
lives have been lost due to underestimating
this virus, that’s why it’s so important to
follow the guidelines put in place. We have
all been through a great deal this year and
I ask that all of you continue to work
safely and work with health sensibility. As
always if you see a safety or health related
issue please let us know so we can have the
issues addressed and corrected.
