Local 1050 Update

ELECTION NOTICE

NOMINATIONS FOR CANDIDATES OF

2^ND SHIFT CHIEF STEWARD-WORKS ENGINEERING (W.E.)

2^ND SHIFT CHIEF STEWARD-FORGE PLANT (F.P)

Because of the recent retirements of Brother Reg Childs and Sister Marion Tabb, there are vacancies in the offices of 2^nd Shift Chief Steward-W.E. as well as 2^nd Shift Chief Steward of the Forge Plant. Per the By-Laws of Local 1050:

Article 7 Section 1 reads in part “In order to be eligible as a candidate for the office of Chief Steward, the candidate must be a member in continuous good standing with UAW Local 1050 for a period of one year, immediately prior to date of nomination. Eligible candidates must be a member of the department which they are seeking office.”

Article 11 Section 15 reads in part, “All members in good standing of UAW Local 1050 shall stand nominated for all eligible offices. Nominees shall have seven (7) days in which to notify the Election Committee of their acceptance of the nomination. They shall submit their acceptance to the Election Committee in writing or by signing the nomination acceptance book stating the office for which they are candidates.”

The nomination period will be from August 3, 2015 through August 10, 2015. The book signing will be available at the Union Hall on August 10, 2015 from 11:00AM until 2:30PM.  The Election date will be August 25, 2015 from 5:00AM until 5:00PM. Voting locations will be in the 118 Cafeteria and at the Union Hall. You must be current on your Union Dues; any questions please contact Dan Dombek at the Hall (216) 341-7900.
