UAW Local 1050 Consumer Affairs Committee Report
Recently Anthem Health Insurance, which is connected to
Highmark/Blue Shield, reported that their databases were hacked. It
was reported that potentially names, birthdays, social security
numbers, street addresses, email addresses, and employment
information may have been accessed but not financial information,
including credit card data.
Recent communications with Highmark, Anthem, and the FBI have
confirmed that the cyber attack into one the Anthem IT systems
potentially included employees who have current or have had past
coverage.
